How it was built

The problems this project had to solve.

Chosen on qualifications

The city chose the team on qualifications and a fee, then worked with us through design to set the price in two open-book stages.

Designed with the community

Four public workshops shaped the plan. Our estimators attended each one, so every idea discussed came with a cost.

Ready for zero energy

The envelope, heat pumps and roof structure were designed for a solar array the city plans to add. The building's measured energy use is reported to the city every month.

Zero recordable injuries in 94,000 hours worked

Across the whole project, all trades included.

Safety program
Progressive design-build let the community see costs while the design could still change.
