The problems this project had to solve.
Building next to a working hospital
The pavilion sits eleven feet from the emergency department's ambulance bay. We rerouted ambulance access twice, ran every utility tie-in overnight with the hospital's engineers, and kept vibration monitors on the imaging suite for the length of the structure.
Prefabricated where it counted
Two hundred and forty patient-room headwalls and ninety feet of multi-trade corridor racks were built in our Kent shop and set floor by floor, taking about four weeks off the interior schedule.
One night for the bridge
The steel connector bridge was assembled on the ground, rigged over a weekend and set in a six-hour overnight lift, with the hospital's second-floor corridor closed for one night only.
Across the whole project, all trades included.
They planned every shutdown with our engineers as if it were their own building. Our emergency department never lost access.
